Three-day Balotsav gets under way in Kothagudem (original) (raw)

Balotsav-2015, the three-day annual national-level inter-school cultural festival of Telugu children, kicked off in Kothagudem on Friday.
Shaik Sadhiq Pasha, a class IX student, ZP High School, Khammam, who recently participated in the United Nations General Assembly Session in New York as a member of a children’s delegation, formally inaugurated the fete in the presence of Telangana JAC chairman M. Kodandaram and others.
The festival got off to a splendid start with child artistes performing a host of scintillating cultural programmes highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Telugu people.
Children representing various schools from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States, besides seven other States, thronged the Kothagudem club, the venue of the mega fete, to showcase their talents in a diverse range of cultural and literary competitions.
Children participated in elocution, play-let analysis, short film review, on-the-spot drawing and a host of other competitions on the inaugural day.
