William Sutherland, 18th Earl of Sutherland was born on 28 May 1735.1 He was the son of William Sutherland, 17th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Elizabeth Wemyss.1 He married Mary Maxwell, daughter of William Maxwell of Preston and Elizabeth Hairstanes, on 14 April 1761.1 He died on 16 June 1766 at age 31.1 He was buried on 9 August 1766 at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1

Francis Egerton, 1st Earl of Ellesmere was born on 1 January 1800.1 He was the son of George Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland and Elizabeth Sutherland, Countess of Sutherland.2 He married Harriet Catherine Greville, daughter of Captain Charles Greville and Lady Charlotte Cavendish-Bentinck, on 18 June 1822.1 He died on 18 February 1857 at age 57.1

George Granville William Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 3rd Duke of Sutherland was born on 19 December 1828.2 He was the son of George Granville Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 2nd Duke of Sutherland and Lady Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard.2 He married, firstly, Anne Hay-Mackenzie, Countess of Cromartie, daughter of John Hay-Mackenzie and Anne Gibson-Craig, on 27 June 1849 at Cliefden House, Taplow, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1,3 He married, secondly, Mary Caroline Michell, daughter of Reverend Richard Michell and Amelia Blair, on 4 March 1889.2 He died on 22 September 1892 at age 63.2
