Sony 4k TV XBR-84x900

There's no doubt that Sony's XBR-84X900 4K TV is a beautifully huge monster, but when the company announced the television back at IFA last week, two big questions were left unanswered — how much would the 84-inch set cost and when would it launch? Sony's revealed all today: we all knew it'd have a staggering price tag, and at 24,999.99we′dsayitlivesuptoexpectations.WewishSonywouldn′tplaygameswithonecentwhenthepricegetsthatlarge,butnomatter.Justforthesakeofcomparisonshopping,LG′s84−inch4Kset[ringsupataround24,999.99 we'd say it lives up to expectations. We wish Sony wouldn't play games with one cent when the price gets that large, but no matter. Just for the sake of comparison shopping, LG's 84-inch 4K set [rings up at around 24,999.99wedsayitlivesuptoexpectations.WewishSonywouldntplaygameswithonecentwhenthepricegetsthatlarge,butnomatter.Justforthesakeofcomparisonshopping,LGs84inch4Ksetringsupataround22,000 in Korea. If you're not put off, you'll be able to pre-order in the US tomorrow, while the units will be in stores come November. Of course, there's still the matter of content, but it's clear that 4K is no gimmick.
