The beloved ‘80s sci-fi comedy, Ghostbusters, will join the Royal Albert Hall’s Films in Concert programme to celebrate the movie’s 40th anniversary this October. Ivan Reitman’s original 1984 classic comes to the venue during Halloween week, with the film being screened in full, as Elmer Bernstein’s famous score is performed live by an on-stage orchestra conducted by the composer’s son, Peter.

Event of the Week

On 12 October, one of the UK’s top swing orchestras is heading to Cadogan Hall for the second of their 3-part concert series in 2024. Down for the Count’s show will feature recreations of swing favourites from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Nat ‘King’ Cole and Ella Fitzgerald, performed by the 30-piece Down for The Count Orchestra – a big band which is one of the few UK swing ensembles to perform with a string section.

Music of the Week

London’s leading art and antiques fair, LAPADA Berkeley Square Fair, returns to its iconic Mayfair location this October in a year which marks the LAPADA association’s 50th anniversary. LAPADA Fair is home to the best of fine art and exquisite jewellery, furniture, antiquities, crystals and minerals as well as specialist collections of Samurai and Impressionist works.

Exhibition of the Week

Following a sold-out run at Park Theatre earlier this year, Kim’s Convenience has transferred to Riverside Studios. Adam Blanshay Productions, in association with Park Theatre, are behind Ins Choi’s award-winning play, which inspired the CBC and Netflix’s global hit TV comedy adaptation of the same name.
