We can probably see light at the end of the tunnel with Dabangg 3 as filmmaker Arbaaz Khan has finally revealed that the third instalment of the hit franchise will begin filming in 2018. Dabangg, which casts Arbaaz’s brother, Salman Khan as a police inspector, is one of the most successful franchises of Bollywood. The first instalment marked Sonakshi Sinha’s debut in 2010 while Dabangg 2 released two years later.
"Yes, we have started scripting the film and I think, we will start shooting Dabangg 3 by the middle of the next year," Arbaaz told reporters at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Tera Intezaar.
Tera Intezaar features Sunny Leone opposite Arbaaz and the press asked the 50-year-old actor at the event, whether he was planning to cast Sunny in Dabangg 3 for a special song like Munni Badnaam Hui, which featured Malaika Arora in Dabangg.
"Yes, why not? And why would she be a Munni, we can cast her for something different, but for that, we have to finalize something,” Arbaaz said.
Tera Intezaar, meanwhile, is Arbaaz’s first collaboration with Sunny and he said that: "One of the reasons I did the film, was to spend some time with Sunny. She is wonderful and we had a great time shooting in abroad.”
Is Arbaaz planning to promote the film on the controversial reality show Bigg Boss 11, anchored by Salman Khan?
"Well, I think that is the producer to decide. If we have the opportunity, and the Colors channel allows us to do so, why not? Though I do not watch Bigg Boss every day, I like watching the show. Earlier, few seasons, I followed. I watched all episodes when Sunny Leone was in the show,” Arbaaz said.
Tera Intezaar will release on November 24.
