National Trolleybus Association (original) (raw)
The NTA, the National Trolleybus Association, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. Fifteen trolleybuses, 312 magazine issues and over 400 monthly meetings have been owned, issued and held by years end, shared by nearly 2300 members over the years. Today, five trolleybuses are preserved, with two running in museums. Membership is international with contributors from all over the world making the NTA’s magazine the most comprehensive trolleybus journal there is. And our London meetings are regarded as a venerable institution, enjoyed by stalwarts from all walks of life.
To celebrate our 50 years, Huddersfield 541 and Bournemouth 202 operated together at East Anglia Transport Museum, Chapel Road, Carlton Colville, Suffolk. NR33 8BL on Saturday 14th Sept 2013.
Formed in 1963, the NTA is the foremost society in the UK for trolleybus enthusiasts as well as those professionally involved with the manufacture and operation of trolleybuses and their associated infrastructure. The aims of the Association are to promote the recording and study of trolleybus operation in the UK and throughout the world and the preservation of historic vehicles. In pursuance of these aims, the NTA publishes "Trolleybus Magazine" and books about trolleybus systems and owns five historic trolleybuses, which it is in the process of restoring to operating condition for display at museums.
