HMCS Grandmere (T/Lt. J. Cuthbert, RCNR) picks up 101 survivors from the British railway ferry Caribou that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-69 in the Cabot Strait in position 47°19'N, 59°29'W.

HMS Upright (Lt. J.A.L. Wilkinson, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Bermuda with HMCS Quesnel (T/A/Lt.Cdr. J.M. Laing, RCNR) and HMCS Grandmere (T/Lt. N.W. Winters, RCNVR). (1)
