Atlantic Veterinary College | UPEI (original) (raw)

One of five veterinary colleges in Canada, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is the only institution in Atlantic Canada educating doctors of veterinary medicine. Since our first class graduated in 1990, AVC has been a fully-accredited college and has experienced remarkable success and growth.

The Atlantic Veterinary College is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and strives to reflect these in all facets of our education, research, and service missions.

We seek to respect, nurture, and advance all members of our community, including students, faculty, staff, and clients, regardless of race, Indigeneity, ethnicity, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, age, religious affiliation, ability or disability, and any other aspects of one’s individual identity.

By intentionally fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that reflects the communities we both serve and lead, we will be best positioned to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and beyond.

We take great pride in providing our students with an excellent education in veterinary medicine. Because of our small size, we get to know our students by name while offering them world-class opportunities. We are focused on fostering innovation and academic excellence. Guided by our mission as stated below, we are educating future leaders in veterinary medicine and research.
