With their new FX show Better Things, the duo are back in the parenting trenches, only this time with a semi-autobiographical take on Adlon’s life. Adlon plays Sam, a working mother — an actor, no less! — of three kids, who do lots of annoying kid things like barge in on her when she’s trying to Google sexy things or ask her to get them pot. I don’t care if it’s organic! Just let mom have one minute of peace, okay? Better Things premieres September 8 — just in time for you to remember to get those little rascals back-to-school supplies.
