Defender Lee Naylor signs for Cardiff City (original) (raw)

LEFT-BACK Lee Naylor has become Cardiff City’s seventh signing for the new season – and he could be involved in Saturday’s Championship home clash with Doncaster Rovers.

Free agent Naylor, released by Celtic at the end of last season, has been training with the Bluebirds and was waiting to see if there was any interest from Premier League clubs.

Now, though, former Wolves and England U21 defender Naylor, 30, has followed Craig Bellamy in committing to the club.

Bloxwich-born Naylor is not match fit, but has done a full pre-season and may be asked to start or be among the substitutes for the match against Doncaster Rovers.

While Naylor prepares for his debut, striker Ross McCormack, 24, looks on his way out of Cardiff City.

McCormack’s agent, Willie McKay, says Cardiff City are willing to let the Scottish international out on loan.
