The NOURISHING policy framework is designed to support governments to promote healthy diets, and reduce obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as cancer. It was developed in 2013.

The NOURISHING policy framework encompasses 3 key domains:

These domains collectively influence dietary habits and health outcomes.

The framework includes 10 evidence-informed policy areas across these 3 domains. Effective policy responses to unhealthy eating require actions from all 10 areas, adapted to regional, national, or local contexts.
