vision zero

On January 10, 2023, the Town of West Hartford Town Council unanimously adopted the Vision Zero Initiative in Support of Safe, Health and Equitable Mobility with the goal of eliminating fatalities and severe injuries on West Hartford streets by 2033

Town News

The American Legion Post 96 requests help to collect the small American flags and flag holders from the veterans’ graves at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, November 16. The collection begins at 8:30 AM and should take about one hour to complete.

The 8th Annual Kindness Project seeks donations of personal hygiene that will help the clients of the West Hartford Food Pantry and Fern Street Universalist Church Backpack Program.

This FREE 7-week series is for individuals with type 2 Diabetes who are newly diagnosed or who may simply need an update on managing their Diabetes.

The Town of West Hartford is seeking residents who are interested in serving the community through an appointment to one of its Boards and Commissions. A new on line, easy-to-use application form has been developed to initiate the process of expressing an interest in serving.

Reduce waste by recycling your pumpkin at Public Works or Westmoor Park, from November 1 through December 1. Place your pumpkin in the organics container, and we'll turn it into bio-fuel and compost!

The Town of West Hartford is among a select group of Connecticut municipalities to be recognized this year for achieving Sustainable CT Gold certification.

The Town of West Hartford offers a bagged leaf collection program for residential properties from Monday, November 4, through Friday, December 20, 2024. Each week on your regular refuse collection day, crews will collect leaves bagged in 30-gallon biodegradable paper bags or the brown yard waste cart.

The Assessment Office is conducting a town-wide project of taking high-resolution photographs of all 22,481 real estate parcels in town in preparation for the next state-mandated Revaluation in 2026.

Eversource has provided the Town with this year's notice of planned and scheduled vegetation maintenance work on the electric transmission right-of-way (ROW) located in West Hartford.
