CHESIL BEACH
A great ridge of shingle running from Portland to Bridport, with a lagoon of brackish water (The Fleet) between it and the mainland. Stones are larger at the Portland end and gradually get smaller.


John Meade Faulkner immortalised the area in his famous smuggling novel 'Moonfleet'
