Summary:The collection includes correspondence from the 1830s to 1911, envelopes, list of delegates, notes on a Montgomery card club, newspaper clippings, whole newspapers, notebooks, guidebooks, periodicals, pamphlets, books, business cards, invitations, and photographs. In addition, a painting and several wallets from the collection have been remanded to the artifact collection. Of special note in the papers is a phrenological survey of W.P. Browne's head done in 1836, furnace plans for his business in Shelby County, and correspondence dealing with the business climate during the Civil War
