Summary:Included are business correspondence to Storke and Gainsborough from a number of American merchants including Philip Livingston, two Robert Livingstons, Peter Van Brugh Livingston, James Bowdoin, Thomas Hancock, Nathaniel Henchman, Peter Oliver, Andrew Oliver, Isaac Norris and Edward Shippen. The letters discuss the shipment of goods between the colonies, the West Indies and England. They include detailed descriptions of items sent to England and the West Indies for sale as well as items purchased from abroad. The letters also discuss land transactions, instructions for other business dealings and the condition of ships used to transport goods. Descriptions of the routes taken by vessels are also discussed within the context of trade.
