Summary:The series consists of 18 folders of opera singer Adelina Patti's letters to the family of her nephew, musician Alfredo Barili, especially to her great niece, Louise. They reveal Patti's interest in her family's welfare and her opinions of society and her career as she traveled through Italy, France, Germany, and England or entertained at home in Wales. A list of all her letters appears at the end of the inventory, including a copy of one by Gladstone. Other letters document the Barilis' life in Atlanta and the Vezins' in Germany and the United States. Included are letters by Mrs. H.H.A. Beach, Edward MacDowell, and Alfred Terhune
