Washington State Library collection of information about works produced in Washington by employees of the Public Works of Art Project and the Section of Fine Arts of the Treasury Department | WorldCat.org (original) (raw)

Summary:Jeanne Engerman, a Washington State Library (WSL) librarian, had written to the National Archives and Records Service (NARA) in Washington, D.C. requesting information from them. The collection includes a transmittal letter to Jeanne Engerman dated Nov. 8, 1984. The NARA responded by sending copies of some materials found among the records of the Public Buildings Service in their custody that concerned works produced in Washington State by employees of the Public Works of Art Project and the Section of Fine Arts of the Treasury Department. The records of a roster Ms. Engerman requested for the Federal Art Project were not available. The names were only available by examining the administrative correspondence files of the WPA central office and the central office of the Federal Art Project that relate to the Washington State project at the NARA in Washington, D.C
