Summary:The collection consists mostly of glossy publicity photographs (most 8 x 10, black & white; many autographed) of performing artists, performing groups and guest speakers who appeared at Mershon Auditorium (ca. 1957-1977) and the Indiana University Auditorium (early 1950's). The subjects include actors, dancers, musicians, singers, conductors, orchestras, bands, pop groups and speakers. Among them: Agnes De Mille, Leonard Bernstein, Jussi Björling, Victor Borge, Pierre Boulez, Alexandra Danilova, Mario Del Monaco, Antal Dorati, Margot Fonteyn, Zino Francescatti, Martha Graham, Jascha Heifetz, Vladimir Horowitz, Herbert von Karajan, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Veronica Lake, Charles Laughton, Lorin Maazel, Marcel Marceau, Nathan Milstein, Modern Jazz Quartet, Eugene Ormandy, Gregor Piatigorsky, Ruggiero Ricci, Paul Robeson, Eleanor Roosevelt, Mstislav Rostropovich, Artur Rubinstein, Rudolph Serkin, Isaac Stern, George Szell, Bruno Walter and others. Also included in the collection are papers, programs, memos, contracts and sample contracts, tickets, invitations, newspaper clippings, reviews, correspondence, related to Mershon Auditorium, including the dedication program of Mershon Auditorium, April 29, 1957, as well as lectures, students's term papers, grades's logs for the Music Management class that Horton taught. Also includes miscellaneous theatre materials, business and administrative records, and correspondence relating to the Indiana University Auditorium
