Summary:Chiefly mimeographed letters from Wood to her friends outside of India about her work in Rahuri as a missionary teacher and principal of educational work and later in Poona as a member of the staff of the United Theological College of Western India representing the Marathi Mission through the A.B.C.F.M. Common topics include a description of her students, the educational and religious training given to villagers, the ecumenical movement in India, and politics in India. She remarks about being the first woman to be named to the secretaryship of the Rahuri mission. There are scattered references to Gandhi, India's shift toward democracy after it gained independence from Great Britain, and its relations with China, Russia, and the United States
