Summary:Sending (separately) the musical autograph he requested, saying that, in signing the autograph, he was reminded of an episode in Rossini's life: a beautiful woman asked Rossini for two photographs, one showing him as a very young man, one as an old man (that is, as he was at the time) which she wanted to duplicate passe-partout; when she asked him to sign the photographs, Rossini wrote his name under each and also the words and music from Il barbiere "Figaro su, Figaro giù;" etc
