Letter from Jacques Maritain, New York, to Paul Rosenberg, 1944 October 26 : autograph manuscript signed | WorldCat.org (original) (raw)
Summary:Thanking him for his letter and for the sentiments he expressed on behalf of Richard de Rochemont and France Forever on the occasion of Maritain's departure for France. While thinking about the friends he'll be glad to see there, and about those who have died or been sent to concentration camps as well, he's also thinking about his and Rosenberg's common efforts in New York during the war years and of the friendships born in exile. He recalls the work done by France Forever with unflagging devotion, and he was happy to read the wonderful expression of recognition given to it by Georges Bidault in the message that Rosenberg conveyed to him [Maritain]. He will let him know how much the members of France Forever were grateful for his message and encouraged by him and will thank him personally for sending his expression of recognition to Rosenberg
