Summary:Offering for sale a group of 41 letters from Jane Austen to her sister Cassandra, from the Alfred Morrison collection, and noting, in response to Morgan's inquiry, that no manuscripts of major Austen novels exist, "either in a library, museum, or among members of the family," saying that "The present living descendent, Mr. W. Austen-Leigh ... states 'that Jane Austen did not preserve the manuscripts of the novels she published, '" and adding "I fear, therefore, no one will ever be able to secure an original manuscript."
