Summary:This collection consists of the oral history interview of William McLaughlin, who was Chairman of the Republican Party in Michigan, and therefore was influential in and knowledgeable about Gerald Ford's presidential campaign of 1976. To get his recollections of the primary struggle between Ford and Reagan, and then the race between Ford and Carter, David Olson held a taped interview with McLaughlin on Dec. 7, 1976. The sound recording produced at this meeting and transcripts of the remarks are included in the collection, which is arranged as received in chronological order
