Summary:The collection consists of three notebooks from courses Steiner attended at Hopkins. The material covered includes lectures by Daniel Coit Gilman on charities, Elgin Ralston Lovell Gould on the family, Woodrow Wilson on the administration of the state, and an unnamed lecturer on English philology. Gilman's lectures on charities were presented to a social science course in 1888-1889. Minutes from these lectures are in the Herbert Baxter Adams Papers (Ms. 4). Gould's lectures were also a part of the social science course; Steiner's notes are the only known record of his remarks. Wilson was a lecturer at Hopkins from 1887-1898.
