Margaret Heaton's childhood, ca. 1890 | WorldCat.org (original) (raw)

Summary:The collection consists of a carbon typescript biography (with handwritten corrections) of Margaret Heaton. The authorship is in doubt; most probably, this was written in the third person by Margaret herself. The author quotes from Mary Heaton's letters and poems, then goes on to describe Margaret's experiences in boarding school, her mother's death, her aborted training as a missionary, and ultimately her job as a kindergarten teacher in London. Of particular note is her friendship with Elizabeth Corbet Yeats and her family (Jack Butler Yeats and William Butler Yeats)
