Summary:Typescript transcription (17 p.), with corrections in pen possibly by F.L. Berkeley, Jr., of Francis T. Brooke's autobiography. Much of the narrative covers Brooke's service in the American Revolution when he was with Harrison's Regiment of Continental Artillery. The author "personally knew (as well as so young a man could know) all of the eminent military characters of the revolution," and he gives in some detail his impressions of George Washington, Nathaneal Greene, and General Alexander Spotswood, as well as Thomas Jefferson. He also discusses his childhood, his marriages, his political career after the Revolution, and his post-war law practice and judgeships. Brooke dedicated the narrative to his "beloved daughter Helen" who aided in completing it
