Summary:Plant specimens, on specimen sheets, some enclosed in interleaving folders within larger outer folders and some mounted and labeled in conventional herbarium format, collected by John Charles Olmsted, Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., Olmsted office staff, and some possibly by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., probably for study and/or reference material relating to projects carried out by the landscape architecture office founded by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., and carried on by his sons and others. John Charles Olmsted historic herbarium includes California specimens and unidentified specimens, New England specimens, and Central Park, New York, N.Y., specimens. Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. historic herbarium includes Brookline, Mass. and Biltmore (Asheville, N.C.) specimens, and specimens from Southern States
