Great!

Xbox Live's first killer app gets a tremendous sequel that greatly expands upon the former's gameplay. Mech hacking, battle armor, and VTOLs are the new standard. Read Review

Follow-up to the Xbox Live mech shooter, developed by Day 1. In addition to the BattleMechs from the first game, MechAssault 2 lets you pilot an entirely new line of combat vehicles including Tanks, Vertical TakeOff and Landing Craft, and BattleArmor. In the original game, battle armor was a small jet-powered craft that offered minimal armor and firepower. Its usefulness on the battle field was limited to its slight advantage in maneuverability. In the sequel, the BattleArmor enables players to climb buildings, ride the Vertical Landing Craft and most importantly, hijack enemy Mechs. The ability to take over enemy equipment is bound to add an interesting new level of strategy to online battles. The game also features a deeper single-player campaign with a more interesting storyline and greater NPC interaction.

Since that time, online console games have grown into more complex and rewarding experiences with deeper gameplay and an emphasis on teamwork. Understanding this, Day 1 Studios and Microsoft have significantly enhanced the core of the franchise's gameplay for MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf. The result is much more well-crafted and enjoyable than its predecessor by quite a distance -- both online and off. Read More »
