We are excited to host an evening at Zuni Café, where guests will enjoy a menu featuring dishes from Roy Choi’s latest cookbook, The Choi of Cooking, alongside some of our signature offerings. The dishes will showcase Roy’s recipes, thoughtfully prepared with seasonal and locally sourced produce. This event provides a unique opportunity for food lovers to experience the flavors and techniques from the cookbook, while also enjoying an exclusive chance to meet Roy Choi in person.
Roy Choi is a Korean-American chef renowned for creating Kogi, a Korean-Mexican fusion taco truck that helped launch the gourmet food truck movement. He is known for “food that isn’t fancy” and his accessible, flavorful approach to cooking. Roy’s influence expanded to restaurants, such as Best Friend in Las Vegas and LocoL in Los Angeles, aimed at offering healthier, affordable fast food. Roy’s culinary creations continue to celebrate accessibility, cultural roots, and unrestrained flavor, making him a significant figure in the modern food scene.

About
Zuni Café opened in San Francisco, California on February 15, 1979. Zuni Café won the James Beard Foundation Award for ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ in 2003 and ‘Outstanding Service’ in 2018.

We are located at 1658 Market Street, on the north side, between Franklin and Gough Streets. We are within walking distance of the San Francisco Jazz Center, Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall, The Orpheum Theater, and San Francisco City Hall. The closest BART station is Civic Center and the closest underground MUNI station is Van Ness.
