This is what's behind Greg Egan's reference to the "Langford Mind-Erasing Fractal Basilisk" in Permutation City; Ken MacLeod's "Langford visual hack" in The Cassini Division; and Charles Stross's "neural wetware-crashing Langford fractals" in his Asimov's story "Router" (incorporated into_Accelerando_), "Langford Death Parrot" in The Fuller Memorandum, and mentions in other Laundry stories.
