Izotov N2O4/UDMH rocket engine. 134 kN, for use in LK-700S manned lunar lander ascent stage. Development ended 1968. Based on UR-100 stage 2 engine. Gas generator cycle; 2 large turbine exhaust pipes.
Status: Development ended 1968. Date: 1963-67. Thrust: 134.00 kN (30,124 lbf). Specific impulse: 326 s.
Krasniy Oktyabr Joint Stock Company, St. Petersburg, built this engine for the ascent stage of Chelomei's LK-700S manned lunar project. The engines for UR-100 stage 2 and LK-700 were probably identical, or at least had same designation. Other LK-700 drawings give the engine designation as 15D13 with a slightly different thrust, indicating a modified design was considered late in development.
Family: Storable liquid. Country: Russia. Propellants: N2O4/UDMH. Stages: UR-700-4. Agency: Izotov bureau. Bibliography: 319, 344, 433.
