Timarchos and Herakleides could afford to adorn their homeland in this way. After a successful mission to Rome, Timarchos had been appointed by Antiochus IV to govern the rich satrapy of Media; see the hostile account in Diod. 31.27a.
Timarchos and Herakleides, the sons of Herakleides, dedicated this on behalf of king Antiochus Epiphanes, to Apollo Didymeus and to Hestia Boulaia and to the People.
