Birth Time of Chess Champions are little known or ignored, despite the publication of the reference book of Jeremy Gaige (1927-2011), Chess Personalia: a Biobibliography (Jefferson, McFarland, 1987 ; 2005) and the invaluable Chess Notesof Edward Winter. An impressive database of world chess players can be found on chessgames.com. I've compiled a list of the most successful players from the XIXth century, 100 male + 8 female players, as it appears in the series below.

1/ ELO's virtual rating list of history's greatest players in the pre-Fischer era, 47 players (H), on 2700chess.com (copy 24/11/2020).
2/ The highest official FIDE ratings of all 2735+ players, 54 players (M) up to Judit Polgar, on 2700chess.com (copy 24/11/2020).
3/ Plus the most famous World Chess Female Champions, 7 players (F): Vera Menchik (1927-1939), Elisaveta Bykova (1953-1959), Nona Gaprindashvili (1962-1975), Maia Chiburdanidze (1978-1988), Xie Jun (1991-2000), Hou Yifan (2010-2016),Ju Wenjun (2018-2020).

On this pannel of 108 Chess Champions (birth dates given in Gregorian Calendar), only a dozen of them are mentioned in Astrodatabank, some with speculative or dirty data. Among the players collected there (Alekhine, Anand, Botvinnik, Capablanca, Carlsen, Caruana, Euwe, Fischer, Gelfand, Karpov, Kasparov, Lasker, Morphy, Reshevsky, Smyslov, Vachier-Lagrave), three are speculative or dirty data (Morphy, Botvinnik, Smyslov), one has wrong birth year (Reshevsky) and three have unchecked birth time (Karpov, Carlsen, Caruana). Jan Timman is ignored. It remains about a dozen birth dates, more or less well referenced with accurate sources.
