Despite being described as "one of the best recruits" Melbourne had signed in years, Pound played just one season as a full-forward with the Demons. His last game was the only one where he didn't kick a goal.
He was included in the first team list for <1951> but was dropped before the season started and was linked to Brunswick before being cleared to Collingwood in May.
In <1953> he trained with in the pre-season, then returned to Brighton without playing a game for the the Blues.
In <1956> Pound played for Sale, and in <1959> he captain/coached the Gippsland League.
