6ft, 7in ruckman who began his Melbourne career in the <1980> Scholarship Squad, and played in the <1981> Under 19s premiership team. He played from <1982> to <1984>.

In the 1984 Night Series, Joycey scored six Best and Fairest votes for the senior side. Midway through that year he was loaned to side Central Districts, playing eight games for the season. He joined side Port Melbourne in <1985>.
