Signed in the <1960> pre-season after winning the Federal League Best and Fairest, Leslie was one of only two new players to make the senior list. He was invited to join the Demons a year earlier but preferred to remain with McKinnon. In one of his first practice games he beat <1959> Best and Fairest winner Laurie Mithen, confirming his spot on the senior list, but spent his first year in the Seconds before debuting in <1961>.
Leslie played six games in his first season, culminating in a losing Semi Final, and remained on the list in <1962> but did not play another senior match. Joined Moorabbin in <1963>, then played at Mordialloc from <1964> to <1970>. Moved to America, then returned for a comeback at Mordialloc in <1973> but was injured in his first appearance.
