Rover recruited by the Demons after winning the Best and Fairest award in the Bendigo League, the rover's first season was his best. He played 15 games before appearing in just two more in <1953> then dropping out of VFL football after training with South Melbourne in the <1954> pre-season. He played at Rochester in <1955>.
