Delisted at the end of <1992>, Mackay continued to train with the club and was redrafted at the start of <1993>. He didn't play a game again, despite converting from defence to attack and kicking 32 goals in the 1993 Reserves side - including nine in a game against North Melbourne.
Played for Frankston from <1994> to <1998>, then North Ballarat in <1999>.
