The ruckman/defender had played at St Kilda in <1967>, before returning to Mentone to play in a premiership side that year. In <1968> he joined Melbourne on the understanding that he would return to Mentone if required for finals. He returned for another premiership at his original side, before rejoining Melbourne in <1969>.
<1971> was his best year with nine games but he was deemed surplus to requirements and in <1972> Weekes was cleared to side Prahran.
Life Member of St Bedes/Mentone.
