The Demons kicked the first three goals of the game, but by the end of the first quarter they had conceded three and the match was back on even ground.
Heavy rain fell during the second quarter and the Crows took the lead before moving further in front in the third quarter with four goals to two. Any chance the Demons had of springing an upset in front of the partisan local crowd was ruined when they only kicked one goal in the final term.
Best were Vince, McDonald and Jones. Angus Brayshaw replaced Sam Frost during the second quarter after frost suffered a broken toe.
A third quarter melee saw fines to Nathan Jones, Dean Kent and Bernie Vince ($1500) and Jay Kennedy Harris ($1000)
