In <1920> the Collingwood Council rejected an application to allow 'refreshment' stands at the ground, leaving Victoria Park as the only dry ground in the VFL but the law was later altered.
The ground was famed for its rustic away changerooms. Cold showers, holes in the roof and terrible lighting were just some of the features that away teams had to look forward to at the ground.
Every game except one at the ground was played against Collingwood, in Round 3, 1986 Melbourne lost to temporary tenants in front of 12,599 - the lowest crowd for a Demons game at the ground since Round 3, 1945. All records below are for matches against the Magpies.
