While this establishes the framework for libvpx codec specific options I was wondering about name clashes with these. Yes this probably should have been titled [RFC/PATCH] as in choosing speed I was thinking to illustrate what I saw as a potential problem and see whether it made sense to establish a system for applying a prefix to these, e.g., codec name or similar.
