http://cr.openjdk.java.net/~michaelm/7113349/4/jdk7u-osx/modified/ I would hope that we could find a way to not have to make platform specific changes to such classes, and we need to be sure that the proposed changes do not impact other platforms either in terms of functionality or performance. I agree and I mentioned a couple of these in a recent mail [1]. However, jdk7u/jdk7u-osx is just an integration forest so they can be worked on there before the port is pushed up to jdk7u/jdk7u.
