It does. Build in progress. Many thanks Anthony. I will blog about requirement for OpenJDK builds for Linux soon :)
Build with STATIC_CXX=false. This removes the requirement and also means that the build benefits from any updates to libstdc++. This is how the Fedora OpenJDK packages are built.
IMHO, it should be the default.
