Oooh, a bikeshed! Adding "-dev" suffixes everywhere is just redundant. If the hotspot forests need a prefix other than "hotspot", how about just "hs"?
Avoiding hotspot/hotspot in the path is the main concern. Whether we use "hs" or "hotspot-dev" or "hotspot-main" to do that doesn't matter much.
