I saw this method too. I've carried out some quick experiments but I haven't managed to make it working. If you think that we should try it, let me look at that again.
I think we should ask Apple guys on what they can suggest regarding this issue. We really need to be able to make visually fully non-opaque areas transparent for mouse clicks.
Mike, any ideas?
