I read all the 'macosx-port' reports that I receive (by email), and have been waiting until I get the impression that Java 7/8 might be mature enough for end-users (only minor problems), so as not to waste time unnecessarily. For me, the big show stopper is the failure of 'setDefaultMenuBar' (Bug 8007267), as this is fundamental to desktop applications. I'm sure that many others are deterred from experimenting with Java 7/8 for exactly the same reason. Does anyone have any idea when (or even if) this bug is likely to be fixed, or if there's anything that can be done to raise its priority?
