Yes, I was thinking something along the lines, since I doubt that LAF really care about this specific property. Which property do you mean? If isLightWeightPopupEnabled property is set to false we can set HEAVY_WEIGHT_POPUP (I don't know reasons why we can't do that) Would you like to commit this or do you want me to prepare a formal patch? I need a patch with a test of the fix. But at first you should read the following doc http://openjdk.java.net/contribute/
