Like Martin explained earlier, '--with' is for options that require or might require an external package or library, and '--enable' is for enabling a feature wholy contained in The Software. So you have --enable-unicode(=type) and --with-threads(=externalthreadspackage).
Ah, thanks, that means that it should with "--with-framework", because there's external stuff involved.
