I know most of you are busy with the release, but may I beg again that SF bug #216405 be finally fixed in Python 2.2?

I can apply the patch myself, if nobody has time, but I need an OK from Guido ;-)

OK. It's too late for the b1 release (Tim has already cooked the Windows installer) but it will go in the next releas.
